There is no statutory requirement for the service we provide therefore it is crucial that we raise the funding to continue to help those sufferers who tend to be put in a Home and forgotten about with little or no stimulating intervention other than toileting and mealtimes.
These can only be accommodated as and when funding allows. The need is always greater than the ability to provide. The evidence of this need is displayed in the constant growth of the scheme from 11 concerts a month to a total of 52 concerts a month this year.

Since establishing the Gift Aid scheme we have had a wonderful response from the general public. The Trustees & I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved.

“To give and not to count the cost…...”

Due to popular request we have added a section to the form for contribution by standing order.

‘There is at present no cure for dementia all we can hope to do is to improve their quality of life. However with the recent stem cell research I am absolutely convinced that there will eventually be a breakthrough into an effective treatment for dementia when it is hoped that those at present in the early stages of the disease would benefit. We desperately need the funding to keep them stimulated till then.’

Ball at Whirlow Brook Hall

We have just held our first annual Ball in October 2008 and managed to raise more than £8,000 at this first attempt.  We wre all delighted with the outcome and wish to thank all those who supported the Ball along with the members of the Ball Committee, Chris Finnegan, Rose Topman, Frances Cook and Janet Cole, who worked tirelessly to make it a success.  Donald Maxwell, Rebecca Rudge & David Barnard entertained us after Dinner and Donald gave an amazing performance as an auctioneer helping to raise a total of £8,000.
